Hard to encounter in decades? Two containers with the same number were found in Chittagong

    The Chittagong Port Authority(CPA)discovered two containers with the same number at its yard.These two 40 foot containers are both numbered SLHU4500470,but the seals are 001535 and GTS 005946,respectively.The Container Terminal Management System(CTMS)of Chittagong has detected this abnormal situation.

    Port officials stated that one of these two containers may contain computer accessories,while the other may contain solar photovoltaic water pumps.The CPA has notified the shipping agent and customs authorities by phone to decide on the next steps.CPA spokesperson Omar Faruk said that such incidents have not occurred in Chittagong in the past.He stated that these two boxes belong to the Singapore shipping company Sea Lloyd and customs officials will open them.

    The general manager of the company's Bangladesh office,S M Salam,pointed out that this was an error that occurred when the Chinese manufacturer made containers for Sea Lloyd.They have requested the manufacturer to provide a report explaining what caused the incorrect container number.If there is no relevant report,they cannot confirm how many box numbers are duplicated.
