        A shipping agent refers to a unit that acts as an agent for ship related business, and its scope of work includes handling water diversion, quarantine, tugging, berthing, loading and unloading of goods, materials, documents, etc. The shipping agent is responsible for ship business, handling ship import and export procedures, coordinating with the ship owner and various departments at the port to ensure smooth loading and unloading of goods, and completing tasks entrusted by the ship owner, such as changing crew members, materials, food supplies, ship repairs, etc. Sometimes the shipping company also entrusts the shipping agent to sign the bill of lading.


       Shipping agent service refers to the business activities that accept the entrustment of the cargo consignee, consignor, ship owner, ship charterer or ship operator to handle the cargo transportation, ship entry and exit, contact and arrange pilotage, berthing, loading and unloading and other relevant business procedures for the client in the name of the client or in its own name without directly providing cargo transportation services.
